Frank Klepacki will be making a Hell March 3!

Posted by Hapos Jun. 21, 2008 @ 5:03 PM EDT

Frank Klepacki, the composer of one of the most badass songs ever made for a video game, will indeed be working with EA for the upcoming game Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3. For those of you who do not know Frank Klepacki, he in the composer of many video game songs for the many hit games by the once Westwood Studios. He is probably known the best from the song Hell March for the game Command and Conquer: Red Alert.

Now for those of you who have not played the game Command and Conquer, it's a Real-Time Strategy (or RTS.) by the company Westwood Studios. The first C&C was released in 1995, and was universally acclaimed as "Defining the real-time strategy genre." If you somehow missed out on this game, then I would suggest that you purchase Command and Conquer: First Decade, it contains most of the modern C&C games aswell as the originals. It's pretty cheap too, ~30-40$.

.

Hooray for the game that many of us grew up with! Wee!

My review of Grand Theft Auto IV

Posted by Hapos May. 10, 2008 @ 2:45 PM EDT

So we all know that Rockstar's highly anticipated action game Grand Theft Auto IV was recently released, and that the critics were simply dumbstruck. The website metacritic.com, which collects all of the reviews of gaming websites and averages them on a 100-point scale, listed GTA IV as a 99/100. That is the highest score of any game on the site. IGN.com also gave GTA IV a solid 10, their first perfect score since one of the Legend of Zelda games. Many other websites including; Gamespot, GameTrailers, 1Up, and many others also gave GTA IV a perfect or near-perfect score. This is simply the most amazing release of the year, and it was certainly a relief to have a game release that didn't disappoint. Well, almost not disappoint.

I managed to purchase a copy of GTA IV at my local Wal-Mart, even though I hate them for economic and business reasons. So I played the game, it was great fun. The story was crisp, the characters believable, and Liberty City was a great presentation of next-gen developing. I managed to complete the main campaign in less than a week, which was somewhat disappointing being San Andreas took me a good month to beat completely. Overall the game was a great success, but it was the multiplayer that really had me hooked. There are quite an impressive number of gamemodes, such as classic Deathmatches, Team Deathmatches, Turf Wars (Which is a territorial control based gamemode.), Free Roam, and many more. The great thing about these gamemodes is that the entire city is open to you. So that means that 16 players can pound it out all over Liberty City.

However addicting this game is, it isn't without some cons. For example, there are far less shops in GTA IV compared to San Andreas, which allowed a great variety in clothing selection. And there are no longer any Body Shops or Gyms, so you'll always be the same person, and you can't upgrade your cars any longer. Which really disappointed me greatly. Your character is also very constrained when it comes to multiplayer, giving you the ability to chose only a few different looks for him/her.

But with these flaws aside comes the great new additions to the GTA genre. Most importantly is the real-time feature, meaning you can explore the city in both daytime and at night. Explosions are also greatly improved, more fiery and loud. Guns are improved aswell, with better muzzle flashes and sounds. Also new to the GTA universe is the addition of a cover system. No more hiding behind walls trying to avoid gunfire. Now you can hide behind virtually anything, including cars, walls, trashcans, dumpsters, doors. Pretty much anything. Think of the cover system from Gears of War, it's pretty much the same thing.

Overall, Grand Theft Auto IV is an amazing addition to the genre, and is a fantastic game, its just a shame that Rockstar took out some of the more exciting features. On a scale from 1-100, I'd give it a 90.

[Picture: Cars have a much more enhanced damage system, showing some detailed bullet holes and broken glass.]

Betty, shut the hell up already!

Posted by Hapos Mar. 3, 2008 @ 5:14 PM EST

Yes, I mean you betty. We all know you are an attention whore, we don't care. You're an annoying asshole who constantly insults us bloggers. No one cares that your parents didn't love you enough, we sure as hell don't need to be annoyed by some prepubescent dumbass. Seriously, go back to Youtube. We don't like your kind here.

Why can't people be more kind to each other. I mean, I know the world is just a giant asshole. But does that mean that the blogging section of NG have to be one as well? Blogs are meant to express us writers, or to promote a new flash movie that you are working on. We don't need some asshole coming in and spamming us with the comments. Just shut up.

Oh, and I know you're going to comment on this blog. It won't surprise me.

Cliffhanger Blog Title! Holy balls!

Posted by Hapos Mar. 3, 2008 @ 4:23 PM EST

Wow, a cliffhanger title! This blog could contain ANYTHING! It could contain a story, a comic, a picture of some sort, even a recipe for chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies! Wow! Anything is possible!

Well, not this time. Unfortunately this blog only contains words. Terribly sorry to get you all worked up. That's right, words. Nothing but a boring 'ol combination of letters, making a word. Just words, and only words. Words, words, words.

Now that I've said the word "words" so many times, it sounds weird. You know what I mean. When you really think about a word and repeat it aloud a few times, it begins to sound weird, am I right? I wonder what causes this confusion? Maybe it's our brain's telling us to shut the hell up, you're annoying me. I don't think that's the case though, my brain loves me! Except when I'm making an oral report for class, it tends to suddenly dislike me.

I wish I hadn't mentioned those chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies earlier. I have a hankering for them now. All warm and delicious and full of sugar to rot away your teeth as soon as they make impact to the deliousness. God, I hate that word. "Hankering." What does that even mean?! Who created it? Was someone without a freaking jaw and a speech impediment randomly asked to say the first word that came to mind? If so, then that's probably what came out. Hankering...

That would suck to be jawless and have a speech impediment. You wouldn't be able to form any words due to your lack of jaw, then you wouldn't even be able to form a word, even if you had a jaw. All day long you would be sitting there, all alone. That is until some asshole comes along and asks you to say the first thing that comes to mind, in which you respond, "Hankering." Even you would know that it was a stupid ass word. You would have said it and instantly thought, "Holy shit, I can't believe I just thought of that, what the hell is wrong with me?"

I swear, sometimes the English language is a weird thing. Although I don't think the word 'hankering' would be considered "English". It sounds more German or Russian. I don't know, I just hate that word.

Oh! Why hello there!

Posted by Hapos Mar. 2, 2008 @ 3:05 PM EST

Hm, I didn't know there was a section of Newgrounds where your latest blogs were listed. If I had known that I would have put a joke or some story in my previous blogs. I just thought someone had to actually view your account to see them. Oh my.

Well then, today's story. Uh, well I'm in a fantastic mood today. I'm just enjoying the last day of February Break before I go back to school, which thankfully I'm doing very well in! So there's no REAL reason to dread Monday. Plus it will get me out of the house so I don't sit on my ass surfing the web and playing video games.

No, I didn't play video games and surf the web my whole break. It would be physically impossible for me to stay inside all the time. I like to ride my bike aswell. I also hung out with some friends, we all went to see Cloverfield, and were physically ill by end of the movie. The wild camera movement really does a number on you. Some theaters even have warnings out stating that the movie isn't meant for those with weak constitutions. Wish I had known that before hand, I felt like shit the whole rest of the night, which is never a fun thing.

Hey! Army of Two is coming out March 4th! The highly anticipated game is almost here, oh rapture! I also found my New Super Mario Bros. game for the DS. I was looking for it everwhere until I finally found it in my jacket pocket. I was finally able to collect and spend all the coins, as well as save the princess... again.

So that's all I got. Thanks for reading!

A great year for gaming.

Posted by Hapos Aug. 7, 2007 @ 2:17 AM EDT

Dead Rising 2. Yeah, supposivly there's going to be a sequel. This is stated from an unknown source, so no promises. If it's true, than what will it be like? I mean, you beat the zombies, is there another breakout somewhere in the world? Oh well, we know Frank West will be there to ge the scoop, I mean, he's covered wars.

Also, Assassin's Creed is coming sometime in September, I think. It's going to be a blast, I know it. Honestly, the A.I. looks incredible, and the fully interactive enviorment is intense. Go to youtube and search it.

So it looks like the 360 owners will have a lot to look forward to when it comes to gaming. There's going to be Bioshock, Crysis, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, (Although I think that there's a computer release, aswell.) and many other great looking games. Oh and not to forget Halo 3.

Can't wait for Steam to release The Orange Box. It consists of Half Life 2: Episodes One and Two, Portal, and Team Fortress 2. Kickass to the max.

I'm not sure what PS3 has in stock for it's fans, being I don't own a PS3. But I bet they're going to get some good games too.

If you haven't already played STALKER: Shadow of Cherynobyl, than I highly suggest you do. It's a fantastic game with amazing graphic detail, sound, and storyline. You play as a form of bounty hunter who was injured in a car crash, only to be saved by a group of STALKERS. You must find out your identity and the meaning of the Zone (The name of the game's play area). Oh, about the play area, it's a 3000 square meter, or something, group of minimaps. During the game you will face many creepily mutated creatures, aswell as opposing forces, such as the military, the freedom force, etc.

So that's about it. A pretty lengthy log, if I do say so myself. Thanks for reading.

Why are there so many idiots in the world? Honestly, almost everyone I know is a complete fucktard. But then again, I hang out with them. Also, egotistical. Nothing new here, so be on your way.
